A Challenge Commenses

As you know I like treats. I really do not just like them but LOVE them. I eat way too many and way too often! I have decided that I want to challenge myself to a 30 day no treat/dessert/candy anything good in life! Starting today!

My big A race this year is Pacific Crest long course triathlon. As you can guess it is exactly 30 days away. I can stand to lose a few lBs! I sleep better and feel better when I am off sugar. It is certainly a good thing for me!

I wanted to do this for 40 days but I discussed this with my friends and they said absolutely not! They know me so well. I get grumpy when I do not get to eat dessert. Totally true!! I thought 30 days would be a more reasonable number. πŸ™‚

In preparation for this challenge I had a gift certificate to Salt & Straw burning a hole in my pocket. I really just wanted to get rid of it!!

Jessica and I went last week and had some scoops. When I say scoops I mean I had 2 and she had 1! I got 2 pints and that used up the GC.

I had a week to finish them off. I did really good moderating them. I am pretty proud of myself for that! I can very easily finish off a whole pint in one setting!! (Sick…I know!)

Here is 30 days to better sleep, better workouts, and better feeling! Now do not be surprised if I get a blizzard on my way home from Sunriver on June 30th! πŸ™‚

Have you done a challenge? I try to do these once in a while.

What would you give up?? Sugar! Always sugar!!

    Whew- good luck!
    I always say I’m going to cut out sugar and then just can’t bring myself to do it! Maybe I could try from this Monday (I’d like something sweet after my Sunday race if it goes well!) to IMCdA. I’m sure I’d only benefit from it!

      Thanks!! Good luck too if you decide to do it!! The only problem with these sugar challenges are once I go back on “the juice” It is way worse than it was before!

    Ugh, I need to join you in this, but I don’t know if I could do it, haha. Oh and I can EASILY eat a pint of ice cream in one night. Sometimes I’ll leave two bites in the container so I don’t feel as bad πŸ™‚
