Friday Things + Blue Lake Goals

7 Jun

How is it the first weekend of June?!

I am doing my first Olympic triathlon of the season on Sunday. Blue Lake. This year will be my 5th year doing it. I missed last year because I was in the freezing rain at the Boise 70.3 turned 29.7. But Rev3 Portland was here last year in July and it is the same course. I managed to do that one and squeak by with a PR. (it was all in transitions) πŸ™‚

Hard to say what goals I have for Sunday. Of course I would love a PR and it is probably realistic. I just hate putting them on paper because that seems to ruin it. I am going to throw out some numbers and see if I can hit them.
Swim: 29:30
T1: 2:30
Bike: 1:12
T2: 1:00
Run: 59:00
Well that is a 2:44 and that would be a PR. I am not going to disclose my PR until after the race.

The only thing throwing a wrench into my plan is I am nervous for the bike. I am always nervous, after getting a flat tire, for like a year. Great…3 more races in the next 5 weeks!

One other wrench is I have never tapered for this race before. I have run a half marathon the day before not just once but twice(Helvetia). I have done a 50ish mile ride twice. A triple run 2 days before Rev3 last year getting prepped for Ragnar NWP! I will be well rested but sometimes I feel better with fatigued legs.

I have stated the goals!! The weather should be good and reasonable!

I saw this quote today:

I will be thinking about this on Sunday. I love Kara Goucher! She is so awesome and she likes peanut MnM’s.

Portland State U has an AWESOME farmers market every Saturday April to December. It is amazing. It was one of my favorite things I loved about living downtown. I have yet to go down there this year. More because of training but it is no longer convenient to get there. I have been bummed the last couple of weeks but I got this flyer on our door yesterday!!

A farmers market that is about 5 blocks from my house!! It started last week. I am hoping to check it out when I get home from the tri!!

Challenge UPDATE: Day 9: Successful. Barely. I thought about getting a donut for National Donut Day but I did not. I was good. I also went to Costco today and wanted a hand dipped ice cream bar. Did not get one of those either!

Last but not least I entered the lotto for the 10th Anniversary of Nike Women’s Marathon.

I ran the half in 2009. So.Much.Fun! They have upped the number of entrants. 35,000 people. Who knows what the odds of getting in are! They draw names at the end of the month.

If you want to enter the lotto —> Nike Womens Marathon or half

Any big plans?

Anyone entering the Nike Womens Lotto?

Anyone racing this weekend??

I haven’t been to any of our Farmer’s Markets yet, but I don’t think there is much local produce here yet either!

Nike Women’s is awesome!! I was there for work last year. I would loveeee to run it myself someday, but I can’t this year 😦 Hope you get in!

Farmer’s Markets are the best. That reminds me, I need to look up the schedule for my local one!
