San Antonio Eats

11 Jul

It was a 6 1/2 hour journey back to P-town last night. It was 58 and freezing when I arrived. I had a fabulous time in San Antonio. I got to spend quality time with an old friend, her husband, and kids. I will say it was “cooler” there than in Phoenix. I do not think it got to be 100 once! I will have to say I did not work out one time! WTF? I felt super lazy there. Which is fine. I needed the REST!! But I went for a run today and it was pretty miserable. I usually work out on vacation. It was too hard in the heat this time around!

All the fun things we did and all the good food we ate:

We hit up Green the first night I was there. Had a protein salad that was out of this world.

As you have already seen. We did some baking. Part 1 and Part 2.

We drove up to Marble Falls to see Trey, Ashley’s bro.

It was a gorgeous day. We wished we would have gotten there earlier to really enjoy it!

After a not so great dinner. We headed over to Blue Bonnet Café. A Texas tradition for 84 years!! We missed out on happy hour but the pie was still cheap!

I am not into pie BUT I do like coconut cream. YUM! Delicious!!

We had a fun day at the pool. I needed to work on my tan just a little bit more before I went home!! Had I known there was a lane blocked off (for laps)I could have brought my goggles and done some swimming!! FAIL!!

Ashley and I had an awesome dinner at Dough. A great wood-fired pizza place. We had the Tuscan Salad, a Margarita pizza, and some nutella paninis. A delicious farewell dinner!

We were planning on places to eat for my next visit. San Antonio seems to be a pretty good eating mecca.

Have you been to San Antonio?
Other good Restaurants? We went to the Cove last time. It was great too!

So awesome! I’m sure we were in TX at the same time. We flew into San Antonio on Wednesday. Ahh don’t you love the hot weather. Soo nice. I love the food pics and the treats you posted. 🙂

That is so funny!! We probably passed each other in the airport and didn’t even know!! 🙂
I do love the hot weather!! It is nice because you can be in one outfit all day. At home I have to layer in 3 shirts and take them off one by one but by the end of the day they all end up back on. 😦

I’m glad you took it easy when you were on holidays- you’ve been go-go-go!
Um- Nutella panini? I think you should remake that and post the recipe to the blog!
By the way, purple looks fantastic on you.

YES!!! Nutella Panini….it was sweet bread with nutella and marshmallow sandwiched between. with whipped cream. Delicious….good idea…I might just have to remake it!!
