From black and white to several colors, dots have long been a symbol of fun. Colorful dots can decorate a girls bedroom decor, lending an atmosphere of youthful lushness to the space. A polka dot bedroom provides fun and imagination for life where every point can be a bubble that dances across the room. Engage your child in the process so that the final result becomes a room she will love to spend time in. Select color colors. Have your favorite girl pick out the colors she likes best. Choose a light shade of her favorite color to be used on the walls. This is the most important color for the room and should affect your bedding and curtain choices.
Select small amounts of additional colors to be used for the painted dots. Also pick up a jar of eggshell white to use as a base for wall dots as well as on other items. Cut out templates of dots of different sizes. Use caps, jars and cans to track the circuits you need to make the dots. Also, cut out different sizes of circles from patterned scrap paper. When the primer is dry, paint different colors on the dots, mix up the colors. Attach round mirrors of different sizes among dots using removable hanging straps.
Paint an old chest of drawers or table with white eggshell color. Trace the point templates on the furniture. Paint dots with colored paint the same way you did in the girls bedroom decor. When the color is dry decoupage some of the patterned paper circles on top of the painted circles that use glue. When dry, cover with another layer of glue or clear acrylic paint. String together old CD uses fishing line to form a polka dot chandelier. Glue patterned paper dots on one side of a piece of CD’s. Hang CD mobile from the ceiling with the lightweight stand in the middle. The light will be mirrored by mobile and shine even more dots on the walls.
